Pregnancy is an amazing time of change and growth! With all the preparations going on inside and out we often forget just how beautiful we are during this time when baby and mother are one. Although it may seem like it’s been an eternity by the time you reach month 9 you’ll be shocked once baby comes by how fast it all went. You will never regret capturing this precious time, but you may regret NOT doing it…
Maternity photo shoots with me can be done outdoors at a scenic location or inside our studio on a classic backdrop. You can allow 1-1/2 – 2 hrs (depending on where we shoot) for a session so there’s time for clothing changes, water breaks, etc. I know mamas don’t move so fast in month 9 so we can take our time to relax and enjoy our session together!

BELLYCASTS
Another beautiful way to capture the beauty of mom & baby as one is by creating a 3-dimensional plaster mold of the mother’s torso. Plaster of paris and cheesecloth gauze are used to create a mold that once hardened & cured, can be sealed and decorated into a personal sculptural work of art. Molds can be made to hang on the wall or display on a flat surface.
Bellycasting sessions take about an hour from start to finish and can be done in my home or yours. The plaster and gauze are applied wet and allowed to harden on the mother’s body, approximately 10-15 minutes. It will then take about 3 days to cure completely after which it should be sealed with shellac before decorating. When it comes to how you’lll decorate yours, the sky’s the limit!

You will leave with your bellycast and a small can of shellac w/brush to seal once it has finished curing.

HENNA BELLY
Have your belly adorned with the natural beauty of henna body art. Our experienced henna artist will come to your home and create a custom design just for you. Henna is an all-natural plant based material mixed into a paste with essential oils & lemon juice which is then applied directly onto the body leaving a rich red/brown temporary stain on the skin. With good care a henna tattoo will last up to two weeks. A henna session can be combined with a portrait session, please contact us if interested for pricing.
